Bosch opens first NEV workshop to support electric mobility

The local new energy vehicle (NEV) market continues to expand rapidly, with more automotive brands introducing electric and hybrid models to sustain the sector's growth.
Alongside the increasing demand for NEVs comes the need for facilities capable of providing specialised care, repair, maintenance, and after-sales services.
In response, Bosch Car Service Philippines has launched its first electric and hybrid vehicle workshop concept, in partnership with ACMobility.
With nearly a century of automotive expertise in the country, Bosch has integrated NEV servicing into its operations through this new concept, located within its existing service facility in Bacoor, Cavite.
It is the first independent facility in the Philippines authorised to service NEVs.
The facility features seven car bays that can accommodate multiple vehicles simultaneously, including those powered by traditional internal combustion engines (ICE). This ensures flexibility in servicing a wide range of vehicle types.
To support NEV maintenance, Bosch has added specialised equipment such as diagnostics machines, electric motor and battery maintenance tools, NEV tyre servicing systems, and enhanced technician safety gear.
During the inauguration, a Bosch technician noted that, in addition to standard safety gloves, they use high-voltage protection gloves for handling electrical components safely.
Bosch has also prioritised technician training by offering specialised programmes in NEV servicing.
This has led to its recent accreditation as a service centre for VinFast Philippines and its range of electric vehicles.
Bosch clarified that the NEV servicing facility will remain a feature within select Bosch Car Service centres rather than a standalone operation.
The company plans to establish more electric and hybrid vehicle workshop concept facilities nationwide as part of its goal to expand its network to 85-100 Bosch Car Service centres across the Philippines by 2030.
However, the inclusion of NEV servicing will depend on local demand for electric and hybrid vehicles, meaning not all future locations will initially include this feature.
