Sinar Eka Selaras (ERAL), a subsidiary of Erajaya Swasembada (ERAA), has announced that Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng has acquired a majority stake in its subsidiary, Era Industri Otomotif (EIDO).
Previously, EIDO's shareholders consisted of ERAL, which held 99.99% of the shares, and Budiarto Halim, who owned 0.001%.
However, Budiarto Halim sold his stake to ERAL on May 13th, 2026. On the same date, ERAL agreed to transfer 154,072 EIDO shares, equivalent to a 90.1% stake, to Xpeng. As a result, Xpeng became the majority shareholder of EIDO with a 90.1% stake, while ERAL's ownership was reduced to 9.9%.
"The company views the strategic agreement between the company and Xpeng regarding share ownership in EIDO as having no material impact," said Badar Teguh Mancik Alam in an official statement on 18th May.
This is because all of Xpeng's distribution, sales and after-sales service activities in Indonesia continue to be handled by Era Inovasi Otomotif and Era Dealer Otomotif, both of which remain 99.99% owned by ERAL.
Meanwhile, EIDO is focused on the manufacturing and assembly of Xpeng electric vehicles in Indonesia. The company also stated that the agreement could expand collaboration between ERAL and Xpeng in relation to Indonesia's electric vehicle sector.
"This collaboration is expected to strengthen capabilities in electric vehicle manufacturing and assembly, while also supporting expansion efforts and the development of smart mobility solutions," Badar Teguh Mancik Alam added.
ERAL became the automotive business unit of the Erajaya Group after securing the status of the official distributor of Xpeng in 2025.
As of December 2025, ERAL reported an initial revenue contribution of IDR 827 billion (US$ 47.1 million) from the automotive segment, making it the third-largest contributor after accessories and IoT, which grew to IDR 3.7 trillion, and fashion apparel at IDR 1.2 trillion.
