The Vietnam Motor Show, an annual event in the country's automotive industry, will not be held in 2025.
According to information confirmed by the organisers to a reporter from a local newspaper, the Vietnam Motor Show 2025 has been officially cancelled.
Despite being midway through the year, no formal plans for the event have been announced.
While the event had been anticipated by relevant parties in the automotive sector, the current status remains unresolved, with no confirmed developments.
Organisers stated that the primary reason for the cancellation is the event's traditional location in Ho Chi Minh City, which has not attracted sufficient interest from customers in other regions.
There had been plans to move the venue to Hanoi in 2025 to improve regional accessibility. However, these plans could not be implemented. The organisers have indicated that the event may be postponed until 2026, when the new venue in Hanoi is expected to become operational.
The Vietnam Motor Show 2024 was held in Ho Chi Minh City in October, with participation from 19 automotive brands and nearly 300 booths representing supporting industries.
Although the event recorded high attendance, major manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, and Ford were absent.
Chinese automotive brands were notably present at the 2024 exhibition. According to some industry analysts, the event focused heavily on participant numbers, which may have contributed to a decline in its overall quality and influence compared to previous editions.
