SgCarMart, 10 Apr '25
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced that, under its ongoing Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP), 15 additional new bus services will be launched by the end of 2025, along with various enhancements to existing services.
Since the inception of the BCEP in July 2024, 11 new bus services have been introduced to improve connectivity to estates such as Woodlands, Punggol, and Tengah. In addition, 43 existing services have undergone enhancements to increase capacity and expand coverage.
The LTA has confirmed that commuters can expect two new services to be introduced in April 2025. New Service 299, operating from Tampines North Bus Interchange and looping at Tampines South, will commence on 27th April 2025. A new limited-stop Service 21X, operating between Whampoa and Novena, will begin on 28th April 2025.
Furthermore, the LTA has announced enhancements to several existing bus services, which are scheduled to take effect by June 2025.
City Direct Service 671, operating between Sengkang and the Central Business District, will see an increase in the number of trips. Service 292 will now operate along Tampines Street 11 in both directions.
Additionally, a new supplementary Service 230M will be introduced to serve residents of Kim Keat Avenue, providing direct connectivity to Toa Payoh Bus Interchange and MRT station.
According to the LTA, these improvements were implemented in consultation with Grassroots Advisers and community leaders, following a review of the bus network's coverage and ridership patterns.
