Daha Auto, a member of the GHK Group of Companies, has introduced the JMEV brand to Brunei with the launch of the all-electric Elight sedan at the Centre Atrium, The Mall Gadong.
Jiangxi Jiangling Group New Energy Vehicle (JMEV), headquartered in Nanchang, China, is a joint venture owned by Groupe Renault, Jiangling Motors Corporation Group (JMCG) and China Agricultural Development Construction Fund Corporation.
Originally established in 2015 as a subsidiary of JMCG, brand was reorganised as a joint venture in July 2019 following Groupe Renault's acquisition of a majority stake.
The Elight is powered by a 56.31 kWh battery, offering a claimed driving range of up to 501 km on a single charge.
Power is delivered by a 165 kW permanent magnet electric motor producing 210 Nm of torque, enabling the sedan to accelerate from 0-100km/h in under 8.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 140km/h.
The Elight supports both AC and DC charging. A full charge using AC power takes approximately eight to 10 hours, while DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 30%-80% in around 25 minutes.
Exterior features include Matrix LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, a panoramic glass roof, rain-sensing wipers, heated and power-folding side mirrors, keyless entry and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the Elight is equipped with a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charging, a six-speaker audio system, power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, rear air vents, USB charging ports and premium interior trim.
The vehicle is backed by a five-year/150,000km vehicle warranty and an eight-year/150,000km high-voltage battery warranty.
To mark the launch, the first 10 customers purchasing the Elight will receive a 7 kW home AC wall charger, window tinting and a BND 2,000 (US$ 1,550) cash voucher.
Following the launch, Daha Auto is holding a four-day public roadshow at the Centre Atrium until July 19th, 2026, where visitors can view the Elight, learn about its EV technology and discuss ownership and financing options.
