Aligning with its 2050 carbon neutrality goal, Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) and Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) jointly held the One Honda Electrification event to showcase their current and upcoming electrified products.
At Honda Cars Philippines, attention was centred around the Civic RS e:HEV preview. The first-ever electrified Civic for the local market, it will make its debut at the Philippine International Motor Show next month.
Meanwhile, at Honda Philippines, Inc., they are leveraging their market leadership to launch their first-ever all-electric motorcycle, the EM1 e.
Now available at Honda Flagship Stores nationwide, it is priced at PHP 155,400 (US$ 2,800) and is available in two colours: Pearl Sunbeam White and Digital Silver Metallic.
Unlike other electric scooters on the market, the EM1 e has a detachable battery pack. The proprietary Honda Mobile Power Pack provides a range of 41.3 km (48 km in Econ mode). It can be swapped out and charged on a standard 220V outlet. Honda Flagship Stores are also selling additional Honda Mobile Power Packs for PHP 42,500 each and chargers for PHP 18,000.
A full charge, from 0 to 100% , takes about six hours, but crucially, the 25 to 75% charge takes just 160 minutes. The Honda Mobile Power Pack is rated for 2,500 charge lifecycles.
The underbone-style Honda EM1 e has a 2PS (1.3 kW), 90 Nm in-wheel three-phase electric motor that drives the rear wheels. It comes with front hydraulic disc brakes and a rear drum brake. It is equipped with 100/90-10 tubeless tyres fitted on a front cast wheel and a rear composite wheel.
Measuring 1,859 mm x 681 mm x 1,078 mm (L x W x H), it has 136 mm of ground clearance. The seat height is 740 mm, making it suitable for Filipino builds. It weighs 95 kg with the battery.
Features include LED head and taillights, a digital meter panel, a security key shutter, a USB Type A charger, a battery safety lock, and a top box-ready rear carrier.
After the EM1 e, Honda Philippines will launch the SC1 e.
