South Korean luxury car brand, Genesis Motor is now officially selling in Indonesia. Their official website displays a complete model list with prices in local currency.
The website lists a 2026 price list for four models. This means Genesis is no longer just a display vehicle or a car for state events, but has already entered the consumer sales phase. The models offered consist of the GV80 and GV70 for the SUV segment, as well as the G80 and Electrified G80 in the sedan line.
The GV80 is priced from IDR 2.085 billion (US$ 123,020), while the GV70 is priced from IDR 1.635 billion. The G80 sedan is priced starting from IDR 1.65 billion. The Electrified G80, the electric version, is priced at IDR 2.361 billion.
All prices are clearly listed on the official website, along with detailed information for each model. This reinforces Genesis' positioning as a premium marque, ready to compete directly with established brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Lexus.
With a price tag above IDR 1.6 billion, Genesis is targeting the upper segment. The introduction of electric models also demonstrates a long-term strategy that aligns with global electrification trends.
Unfortunately, when media tried to confirm the matter with the Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motors Indonesia, Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, the company had not yet provided an official response until this news was published.
Nevertheless, the presence of an official price list on the website is a strong indication that Genesis has opened its doors to Indonesian consumers. Now, we just have to wait for an official statement from the principal and the relevant distributor.
