GWM begins CKD assembly of Ora 03
Autobuzz, 26 Nov '25
GWM has commenced local assembly of the Ora 03 at Inchcape Indonesia's electric vehicle (EV) production facility in Bogor.
The locally assembled compact EV hatchback has achieved a Domestic Component Level of more than 40%, indicating that over 40% of its components are sourced locally. The high level of local content reflects the company's stated commitment to supporting the Government's efforts to localise EV components and strengthen Indonesia's supply chains, said the research firm.
The company further added that its assembly facilities employ manufacturing processes and quality testing that comply with GWM's global standards.
Inchcape Asia Pacific Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Phil Jenkins, stated, "The start of production of the ORA 03 electric vehicle in Indonesia underscores Inchcape's belief that Indonesia is a key pillar of our Asia Pacific strategy. Indonesia offers exceptional scale, capability, and ambition, and we are committed to delivering world-class products to Indonesian consumers."
Inchcape GWM Indonesia CEO, Bagus Susanto, added, "The first local production of the ORA 03 is a clear demonstration of our commitment to transforming the national automotive industry. Indonesia has tremendous potential as both a market and a manufacturing hub, and we are ready to ensure every customer receives the best products meeting global standards."
The locally assembled Ora 03 will be delivered to customers starting next year. For the time being, the Ora 03 continues to be offered in Indonesia in its pre-facelift version, in a single variant.
It shares the same front electric motor as the Malaysian models, producing 145 PS and 210 Nm, and is equipped with a 47.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, capable of delivering a 400 km range under the NEDC testing cycle.
Although the battery is smaller, it supports faster charging. The Ora 03 in Indonesia can charge from 30% to 80% in 32 minutes using 60 kW DC fast charging, while a full charge with 6.6 kW AC power requires approximately eight hours.
In comparison, the recently updated Ora Good Cat in Malaysia, fitted with a larger 57.7 kWh battery, requires nine hours for a full AC charge and 38 minutes for DC fast charging.
The Malaysian Ora Good Cat also features a redesigned centre console, which replaces the previous rotary gear selector with a more direct layout.
