Volvo has introduced the EX90 in Indonesia's competitive SUV segment. The model is being offered at a price of IDR 2.55 billion (US$ 145,350).
"The launch of this electric SUV in Indonesia forms part of Volvo's long-term plans related to mobility," said Koji Horii, CEO of Volvo Car Indonesia, in Jakarta on May 19th.
The EX90 is a seven-seater electric SUV equipped with safety technologies and electric powertrain features. The battery in the EX90 has a capacity of 111 kWh and provides a driving range of approximately 600 km on a single full charge.
Charging is supported by DC fast-charging technology, enabling the battery to be charged from 10 percent to 90 percent in approximately 30 minutes.
Two powertrain variants are available for the EX90: Twin Motor and Twin Motor Performance. The Twin Motor Performance variant is claimed to deliver 517 PS and accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. Meanwhile, the Twin Motor variant produces 408 PS and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
The EX90 also has a towing capacity of up to 2,200 kg. In terms of entertainment features, the EX90 is equipped with a 14.5-inch head unit with Google built-in, integrated with a nine-inch instrument panel. The EX90 can also receive feature upgrades and system enhancements remotely through over-the-air (OTA) updates. This allows software updates to be carried out without requiring owners to visit a dealership or service outlet.
It is now available for pre-order. The vehicle is being imported from Malaysia as a completely built-up (CBU) model.
