VinFast has officially launched the VF MPV7 in Indonesia, introducing a seven-passenger electric multi-purpose vehicle aimed at customers seeking greater space and practicality for daily use and long-distance travel.
The launch took place during a four-day VF MPV7 event held at Laguna, Central Park Mall, where Indonesian customers, partners, and media representatives were invited to test-drive the model and review its features and technologies.
During the event, the company also announced the rollout of the first VF MPV7 from its manufacturing facility in Subang, West Java, as part of VinFast's localisation and manufacturing expansion plans in Southeast Asia. The development follows the official inauguration of the Subang plant in December 2025.
According to the company, the VF MPV7 has been developed to address demand for larger passenger vehicles, particularly among families for whom five-passenger sedans no longer adequately meet requirements for interior space and practicality. The model serves as the higher-positioned version of the Limo Green line-up and incorporates updated design, technology, and convenience features.
Speaking during the launch, Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, Chief Executive Officer of VinFast Indonesia, stated that the VF MPV7 represents an addition to the company's electric vehicle portfolio in Indonesia and supports its long-term investment and mobility plans in the market.
Built around traditional MPV proportions, the VF MPV7 measures 4,740 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width, and 1,734 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm. The vehicle features wheels positioned towards the corners of the body to maximise cabin space. Exterior design elements include flowing body lines, defined surface contours, a front fascia, and an upright stance.
Inside, the cabin adopts a layout featuring synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped D-cut steering wheel with multifunction controls, a steering column-mounted electronic gear selector, and a 10.1-inch infotainment display supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The integrated transmission lever mounted on the steering column is intended to free up additional space in the front cabin area.
Additional interior features include automatic air-conditioning with dedicated vents for all three seating rows and a PM2.5 air-filtration system designed to maintain cabin air quality.
The VF MPV7 is powered by an electric motor producing 150 kW and 280 Nm of torque, although another company communication cited an output figure of 204 PS. The electric powertrain is intended to provide immediate torque delivery. The model uses a 60.2 kWh battery pack, providing a claimed driving range of up to 450 km under the NEDC testing cycle. The vehicle also supports fast charging, enabling the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in approximately 30 minutes.
In terms of safety and driver-assistance systems, the VF MPV7 is equipped with Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and Roll Over Mitigation (ROM). These systems are intended to assist with vehicle stability and reduce risks associated with emergency braking, slippery roads, and steep inclines.
Additional safety and convenience features include rear parking assist, a rear-view camera, cruise control, reinforced chassis construction, and active and passive safety systems. The vehicle also incorporates connected technologies such as a virtual assistant with Indonesian voice control, remote vehicle management functions, and location-based services accessible through a smartphone application.
The VF MPV7 is priced in Jakarta from IDR 420 million (US$ 23,765) for the battery-included version, while the battery-subscription version starts from IDR 345 million. VinFast stated that subscription fees begin from IDR 880,000 per month, depending on usage requirements.
To support the launch, the company announced that the first 2,000 VF MPV7 customers will receive a cashback incentive of IDR 16 million. Buyers will also receive free charging at V-Green charging stations in Indonesia until March 31st, 2029. The company stated that the policy is intended to reduce operational costs for customers.
VinFast is also offering a vehicle warranty of up to seven years and a battery warranty of up to eight years for the VF MPV7. The Subang manufacturing facility, where the first VF MPV7 units were rolled out, is built on a 171-hectare site and is planned to be developed in multiple phases, with total projected investment exceeding US$ 1 billion.
In future phases, the plant's annual production capacity is expected to reach up to 350,000 vehicles. The facility currently manufactures the VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, and VF MPV7 models, with additional products expected to be added as part of the company's Southeast Asian expansion plans.
Over the past two years in Indonesia, VinFast has expanded its product portfolio, dealership network, and after-sales operations, while also collaborating with charging infrastructure developer V-Green on charging network deployment across the country. The company has additionally partnered with banks and financial institutions to offer financing solutions intended to improve electric vehicle accessibility for Indonesian consumers.
