Busworld Southeast Asia 2026, officially opened on May 20th, 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran in Central Jakarta, Indonesia.
Now in its fourth edition, the biennial exhibition focuses on developments and technologies related to mass transportation. Held alongside the INAPA 2026 component industry exhibition and Transportation & Logistics Indonesia 2026, the event highlights ongoing activity in Indonesia's infrastructure and transportation sectors.
Global Expo Management (GEM) Indonesia President Director Baki Lee stated that the exhibition functions both as a product showcase and as a platform for engagement among stakeholders across the industry.
"We hope this exhibition will create business opportunities for operators, industry players, and the government to collaborate in developing the industry, particularly the sustainable mobility sector," said Baki Lee during his remarks at JIExpo Kemayoran on May 20th, 2026.
Approximately 15 participating countries sent exhibitors and observer delegations, including Belgium, China, Malaysia, Australia, Colombia, and the United Kingdom.
Busworld International General Manager Vincent Dewaele commented on developments in the public transportation market in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, including the ongoing shift towards modernisation.
"Indonesia and the wider Southeast Asia region are undergoing changes in public transportation. The focus is no longer solely on moving people from point A to point B, but also on doing so in a sustainable, safe, and comfortable manner," said Vincent.
Vincent also stated that the Indonesian market continues to focus on electrification and zero-emission vehicle solutions.
During the three-day exhibition, visitors are being presented with products and technologies related to components, chassis manufacturing, and vehicles developed by local body builders.
Busworld Southeast Asia 2026 will run from May 20th, 2026 to May 22nd, 2026. In addition to displaying intercity buses and urban electric buses produced in Indonesia, the exhibition also provides a venue for policymakers, operators, and manufacturers to discuss mobility-related developments in the country.
