Triumph Speed 400-based bike to be revealed on September 17th
Autocar India, 10 Sep '24
Triumph has revealed a new model based on the Speed 400, with the official launch set for September 17th, 2024.
Speed 400 variant and launch details
The information shared by the company confirms that this upcoming model is built on the Speed 400 platform, with the badging clearly visible in the image issued by Triumph on social media. It also features bar-end mirrors.
As the badging reads Speed 400, it is expected that the new Triumph will share many core characteristics with the current Speed 400, a small neo-retro roadster.
There are several possibilities regarding what this new model could be. It might be a special or limited edition variant featuring standard accessories, or it could be the Thruxton 400, which has previously been spotted in testing.
Thruxton 400 shares much with the Speed 400 but offers a more committed riding position with cafe racer ergonomics.
There is also the chance that Triumph might introduce new colour options for the Speed 400. What the final product will be remains to be seen.
Triumph Speed 400, priced at Rs. 235,000 (US$ 2,800), ex-showroom, Delhi, is the most accessible entry point into the British brand.
It is powered by a 398cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 41 PS and 37.5 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox.
