The Yamaha MT 15 V2 has been officially launched in Nepal, brought to the market by MAW Enterprises, the authorised distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in the country.
This much-anticipated update to the popular MT 15 brings exciting enhancements, while maintaining its signature streetfighter appeal.
The MT 15 Version 2.0 retains the bold "Dark Warrior of Japan" design, featuring an aggressive front section with a distinctive Bi-Functional LED headlight and twin LED DRLs for improved visibility.
Unlike its predecessor, the V2 introduces colour accents around the headlight, giving the "predator's eyes" a sharper look.
LED side indicators remain the same as the previous model. One of the major design upgrades is the inclusion of golden upside-down front forks, which add a premium feel.
The bike's muscular profile continues, highlighted by its sculpted fuel tank, winglets, and radiator side fins. The rear design maintains the short rising tail, featuring a sleek LED taillight and uni-level seat with an integrated handlebar.
Yamaha offers the MT 15 V2 in three colour options: Cyan Storm DLX, Icon Fluo-Vermillion DLX, and Metallic Black.
The Yamaha MT 15 V2 is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, liquid-cooled SOHC fuel-injected engine. This setup produces a maximum power of 18.4 PS at 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14.1 Nm at 7,500 rpm. This is an improvement in torque from the previous model, which generated 13.9 Nm at 8,500 rpm, offering better performance at lower RPMs.
The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, featuring an Assist & Slipper Clutch (ASC), enhancing the riding experience. The fuel tank capacity remains at 10-litres.
While the overall power figures remain unchanged, the improved torque and the addition of premium features have made the Version 2.0 slightly more expensive than the previous model.
The bike's suspension is handled by an upside-down front fork and a linked-type Monocross setup at the rear. The MT 15 V2 has a wheelbase of 1,325 mm, which is 10 mm shorter than the previous version, and a ground clearance of 170 mm. The kerb weight is 141 kg, ensuring a balance of agility and stability.
