Iran's energy engineering group MAPNA has received an order to export electric vehicle (EV) chargers.
A senior MAPNA official announced on 11th March that the group will export 1,000 EV chargers to a country identified as a member of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the Eurasia region.
Mohammad Hossein Refan stated that MAPNA is working to expand its exports of EV chargers as part of broader efforts to increase the production and installation of such devices in Iran.
According to Refan, a total of 414 EV chargers has already been installed at 132 charging stations across Iran, currently serving approximately 2,000 electric vehicle owners. He also noted that an estimated 5,000 additional Iranian EV owners are using home charging devices.
These statements were made during a ceremony in Tehran, where MAPNA unveiled three new products related to its EV charging network in Iran.
The company indicated that these new products would accelerate the deployment of EV chargers and contribute to increasing EV ownership in the country.
The use of imported EVs has been rising in the capital, Tehran, and other major cities, as part of an ongoing effort to electrify the transport sector in Iran.
Iranian automotive companies have also accelerated their plans to manufacture electric cars. However, authorities have suggested that imports will increase to meet the growing domestic demand for EVs.
