The Landian E5 Plus plug-in hybrid crossover from Seres has reached dealers in China, priced at CNY 109,800 (US$ 15,580). Chinese netizens have dubbed this SUV a ''half-priced Aito M7'' due to its similar exterior styling and the same manufacturer. The Landian E5 Plus will soon commence domestic sales.
Landian is an NEV brand under Seres that was launched in early 2023. Its current model line consists of two vehicles: the Landian E3 and the Landian E5 crossovers. The Landian E5 Plus SUV is expected to start domestic sales shortly, as it has been spotted at dealers.
At the dealership, the Landian E5 Plus was showcased in a blue body colour. Previously, Seres shared official images of the car in a green shade. The E5 Plus features a closed front end with no radiator grille, and its front bumper has a large trapezoidal air intake to keep the engine cool. The E5 Plus also has rectangular headlights connected by a thin LED strip. Its styling closely resembles that of the Aito M7 Ultra SUV from Seres and Huawei.
From the rear, the Landian E5 Plus showcases a single taillight strip. It is worth mentioning that this SUV is built on the Dongfeng Fengon 580 petrol-powered crossover platform, which gives it an overall proportion and body shape that may seem somewhat outdated. However, Seres has endeavoured to make this family vehicle appealing.
Inside, the Landian E5 Plus surprisingly offers a pleasant environment. It features seven seats and a black-beige interior colour combination. The centre console boasts a large floating screen along with a smaller LCD instrument cluster. The gear shifter of the E5 Plus is positioned behind the D-shaped steering wheel, and the centre tunnel includes two wireless charging pads and a pair of cup holders.
The Landian E5 Plus also offers a large panoramic roof, which enhances the spacious feel of the interior. The car's front seats are heated and ventilated, and it is equipped with 13 speakers.
The Landian E5 Plus measures 4,760 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,785 mm. For clarity, it is 260 mm shorter, 80 mm narrower, and 66 mm lower than the Aito M7.
The Landian E5 Plus adopts a plug-in hybrid powertrain, featuring a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 70 kW (94 PS), with a fuel consumption rate of 0.92-litre/100 km. Its consumption with a drained battery reaches 5.6-litre/100 km. The E5 Plus's internal combustion engine pairs with an electric motor for a combined output of 160 kW (215 PS). The electric range of this crossover is between 120 and 165 km, depending on battery options, with a mixed range of 1,300 km.
The Landian E5 Plus became available for order in China in two trim levels, with a price range of CNY 109,800 to 119,800. Sales are expected to begin soon in China.
