Hyundai Motor Taiwan announced on June 2nd the launch of the 2026 Tucson Hybrid, featuring a revised model line-up and updated equipment package.
The range now focuses exclusively on passenger vehicle variants, with the passenger-cargo versions having been discontinued. The company also confirmed that the Kona will return to the Taiwan market later in 2026. The 2026 Tucson Hybrid is now offered exclusively as a passenger vehicle and is available in three trim levels: Premium-A, Premium-B and Premium-C, replacing the previous GLTH-A, GLTH-B and GLTH-C variants.
Pricing:
- Premium-A: NTD 1.119 million (US$ 35,200)
- Premium-B: NTD 1.189 million
- Premium-C: NTD 1.259 million
Compared with the previous line-up, prices have been reduced by between NTD 70,000 and NTD 100,000. Combined with Taiwan's vehicle trade-in tax incentive of up to NTD 50,000, the brand estimates that buyers can purchase a Tucson Hybrid for slightly more than NTD 1 million.
The company has set a monthly sales target of 600 units for the Tucson Hybrid. Meanwhile, the petrol-powered Tucson range remains unchanged, continuing to offer both passenger and passenger-cargo variants with the same specifications and pricing as before.
Driver assistance and convenience features
In addition to the revised model structure, the Tucson Hybrid receives several equipment changes.
From the Premium-B trim level onwards, the SUV is equipped with a 12-sensor surround radar system, a Surround View Monitor (SVM) and Rear Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA). The company has also reintroduced the Blind-View Monitor (BVM), which displays blind-spot camera images within the digital instrument cluster.
The Tucson Hybrid is also equipped with Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA), which enables drivers to move the vehicle forwards or backwards remotely using the key fob. The feature is intended to assist with parking in confined spaces.
Despite the equipment changes, several features have been removed from the 2026 Tucson Hybrid.
Compared with the previous GLTH-B, the new Premium-B no longer includes:
- Qi wireless charging
- Intelligent Front-lighting System (IFS)
- LED rear combination lamps
Compared with the previous GLTH-C, the Premium-C no longer includes:
- Panoramic power sunroof
- Driver's seat memory function
- Power-adjustable front passenger seat
- Front seat heating and ventilation functions
Kona Hybrid to return later in 2026
Hyundai Motor Taiwan previously announced its "Three Years, Nine New Models" product strategy. During the Tucson Hybrid launch event, the company also outlined its upcoming launch schedule for 2026.
The three-row Palisade SUV is scheduled to arrive in August 2026, followed by the facelifted Staria commercial vehicle in September 2026. In October 2026, the Kona will return to the Taiwan market equipped with a hybrid powertrain.
