The Ora 5 has been confirmed for a public debut at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026 in Malaysia. The compact SUV is available in Thailand as either a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) or a battery electric vehicle (EV), although it was previously indicated that the HEV variant would be introduced in Malaysia first.
Measuring 4,471 mm in length, 1,833 mm in width and 1,641 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm, the Ora 5 is larger than the BYD Atto 3 but smaller than the Proton eMas 7. Based on Thai-market specifications, the HEV is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 150 PS and 240 Nm, paired with a front-mounted electric motor delivering 190 PS and 236 Nm. The system is supported by a 1.09-kWh battery and generates a combined output of 223 PS and 476 Nm.
The vehicle is equipped with a 55-litre fuel tank, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds, and has a claimed fuel consumption figure of 23.3 km per litre. The suspension setup comprises MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear. Ventilated disc brakes are fitted at the front, while solid disc brakes are used at the rear. The vehicle rides on 18-inch alloy wheels fitted with 225/60 tyres.
In Thailand, the Ora 5 is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, app functionality, over-the-air (OTA) updates, six speakers, and 50-watt wireless charging. The Ultra variant adds a nine-speaker audio system. Standard seating includes a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat and a four-way manually adjustable front passenger seat. The Ultra variant adds seat ventilation, three memory settings for the driver's seat, power adjustment for the front passenger seat, and front passenger seat ventilation. Leather upholstery is also included.
Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are fitted as standard, including autonomous emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control (ACC), and various lane assistance functions. The Ultra variant further adds lane change assist, blind-spot detection, door open warning, emergency lane keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, rear cross-traffic braking, front cross-traffic alert, and front cross-traffic braking.
The Ora 5 is priced from THB 729,000 in Thailand. For reference, the Ora Good Cat Ultra and Ora Good Cat GT are currently priced at MYR 110,000 and MYR 120,000, respectively, in Malaysia.
