Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) has confirmed that it will introduce three new models at the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026.
Of the three models, the Chery Q has been confirmed for launch. The compact electric vehicle will be officially introduced, with its selling price for the Indonesian market also set to be announced.
"Currently, we will introduce three models at GIIAS. One of them is the Chery Q, which will definitely be the centre of attention, both from us and the expectations of consumers, the other two products are still a secret; we can't reveal them yet, but we can guarantee they will be available," said Arthur Panggabean, Head of Brand & Marketing at Chery Business Unit Chery, in Bekasi recently.
Although details remain undisclosed, one of the additional models expected to be launched at GIIAS 2026 is the Chery Himla, a double-cab pickup that made its debut at Auto Shanghai 2025. This assessment is based on Chery's presentation materials released ahead of the exhibition.
If introduced in Indonesia, the Himla will become Chery's first double-cab pickup model to be marketed in the country. It would also mark the Chinese manufacturer's entry into the double-cab pickup segment, which includes models such as the Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi Triton, Ford Ranger and Isuzu D-Max.
J6T REEV
Another model that could be introduced is the Chery J6T REEV. The electrified SUV was previously unveiled in Thailand, indicating the possibility of its entry into the Indonesian market.
Globally, the J6T REEV is equipped with Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology, which combines an electric motor with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
The vehicle uses a 33.6 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by CATL and is available in rear-wheel-drive (2WD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations. The 2WD variant is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 251 PS and offers a pure-electric driving range of up to 190 kilometres. The AWD variant features an additional electric motor on the front axle, producing a combined output of 427 PS and 505 Nm of torque.
