The new entry into the Malaysian cruiser market is the 2024 Benda Napoleon Bob 250, with estimated pricing between MYR 20,000 and MYR 25,000 (US$ 4,660 and US$ 5,830).
The Napoleon Bob 250 is scheduled to arrive in selected MForce Bike Holdings dealer showrooms in early 2025.
Unveiled at MForce Best Shop Hoong Fatt Motoworld in Ipoh, Perak, over the weekend, the Napoleon Bob 250 is a stretched-out cruiser in the 'bobber' style. The Napoleon Bob 250 will join the forthcoming Benda Chinchilla 500 cruiser, which is destined for Malaysian shores in early 2025.
As its name suggests, power for this quarter-litre cruiser comes from a 249 cc, liquid-cooled, eight-valve, V-twin engine. Power for the Napoleon Bob 250 is rated at 25.4 hp at 9,000 rpm, with a maximum torque of 25 Nm at 5,500 rpm, which Benda says is good for a top speed of 120 km/h.
Power goes to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch, with chain final drive. Wheel sizing is 18 inches at both ends, fitted with 130/80 and 160/70 tyres.
Unique to the Napoleon Bob 250 is the girder front fork complemented by telescopic forks, while the rear end uses preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers. The front suspension system functions somewhat like BMW Motorrad's Telelever, in which preload is handled by the telescopic forks while rebound and compression are controlled by a separate shock absorber.
Braking is provided by single hydraulic discs front and rear, with two-channel ABS as standard equipment. Riding aids include traction control, while riding information is conveyed through a single round LCD instrument binnacle.
The seat height on the Napoleon Bob 250 is set at 748 mm, typical for cruiser-style bobbers. The weight is listed at 182 kg with 9.5-litres of fuel in the tank.
