Atul Greentech, Amara Raja partner to develop EV batteries, chargers

Atul Greentech, a subsidiary of mobility firm Atul Auto, has entered into a collaboration with battery manufacturer Amara Raja for the development and supply of electric vehicle (EV) batteries and chargers, according to an official statement released on 15th April, 2025.
The collaboration aims to facilitate the development and supply of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery packs and chargers for EVs. The partnership will also include the development of cells, including advanced chemistry cells, for Atul Greentech's forthcoming products in alignment with India's "Atma Nirbhar Bharat" (self-reliant India) initiative, the statement noted.
A tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed to this effect between Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies (ARACT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M); Atul Greentech Private Limited; and Amara Raja Power Systems in Ahmedabad.
Under this agreement, battery packs for Atul Greentech's three-wheelers will be manufactured at Amara Raja's Giga Corridor facility in Divitipalli, Telangana.
Vijay Kedia, Director at Atul Auto, stated that Amara Raja and Atul Greentech share a long-standing and mutually beneficial partnership.
He expressed confidence in advancing the company's EV initiatives in collaboration with Amara Raja, as India transitions to electric mobility.
Vijayanand Samudrala, President of New Energy at Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M), affirmed that the Amara Raja Group remains committed to supporting India's energy transition.
He further added that the new agreement is expected to further enhance the product portfolios of all partners involved.
