AC Mobility to add 30 EV charging stations, targets 700 by end-2025
Car Guide, 16 Apr '25
AC Mobility, a company under the Ayala Group, has announced plans to install an additional 30 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations by the end of April, 2025, bringing the total number of sites to 100.
The network is expected to be operational in at least 700 locations by 2025.
According to Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, Chief Executive Officer of AC Mobility, the company has expanded its network and implemented new technologies to improve the EV charging process.
This includes increasing the number of fast chargers at existing stations and extending infrastructure to areas that currently have limited access.
As part of the Charge Forward campaign, the charging stations have been placed in high-traffic areas and along major travel routes to address concerns about range limitations. The new locations will include Superfast and Ultra-Fast Chargers, capable of delivering up to 480 kW, which reduces charging times.
The expansion covers both urban and rural locations, including interregional corridors such as the northern loop through La Union, Ilocos Norte, and Tuguegarao.
On Panay Island, the network will include the provinces of Antique, Iloilo, Aklan, and Roxas City. In Mindanao, additional stations will be established in the cities of Iligan, Butuan, Valencia, Digos, and Tagum, complementing the existing infrastructure in Davao and Cagayan de Oro.
AC Mobility has also introduced a membership programme with fixed monthly fees, offering lower charging rates. This programme will be implemented nationwide as new stations become operational.
At present, DC charging is available for PHP 28 per kWh, compared to the standard rate of PHP 35 per kWh, while AC charging is priced at PHP 22.80 per kWh, versus the standard PHP 28.50 per kWh in the National Capital Region.
An overstay fee of PHP 500 (US$ 8.83) per hour applies after a 30-minute grace period. Rates in other regions may vary.
