Yamaha MT 15 V2 is expected to come soon to Nepali market.

MAW Enterprises, the authorised distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Nepal, is expected to launch the updated Yamaha MT 15 Version 2.0 to the market.

Design

The MT 15 Version 2.0 continues to embody the "Dark Warrior of Japan" theme with a striking front section. It retains the bi-functional LED headlight, complemented by Twin-LED DRLs for enhanced visibility.

Unlike the previous model, the V2 features an updated headlight design with colour accents on the predator eyes. The side indicators are LED, as in the current model. Additionally, the golden front forks add a touch of premium quality and are part of the new upside-down suspension system.

The side profile of the MT 15 Version 2.0 showcases a muscular build. The design highlights, such as the front winglets and radiator side fins, remain intact. The rear design retains the short rising tail, sleek LED taillight, and uni-level seat with an integrated handlebar for functionality and style.

Performance

Yamaha MT 15 BS6 is powered by a 155cc Single-Cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, Liquid-Cooled, SOHC FI engine. It can generate a max power of 18.4 PS at 10000 rpm and a max torque of 14.1 Nm at 7500 rpm.

Additionally, it is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with an assist & slipper clutch (ASC). The fuel tank capacity remains the same at 10 litres.

While the power remains unchanged, the torque has seen a slight improvement. The previous model produced 13.9 Nm at 8500 rpm, whereas the new 2.0 delivers 14.1 Nm at a lower rpm of 7500.

Additional details

The bike features an upside down front fork and linked-type monocross handles the suspension system.

Dimensions of the bike are 2015 mm in length, 800 mm in width, and 1070 mm in height. The wheelbase is 1325 mm which is 10mm shorter than the previous model. It gets a ground clearance of 170 mm, and the kerb weight sits at 141 Kg.

The Yamaha MT 15 Version 2.0 price in Nepal is expected to be around NPR 600,000 (US$ 4,500). Given that the R15 V4 is priced at NPR 615,000 in Nepal, the MT 15 Version 2.0 is expected to cost around NPR 600,000 due to their shared features.
