The all-new Volkswagen T-Roc is set to enter the Taiwanese market, with Volkswagen Taiwan confirming that the redesigned compact SUV will make its local debut on July 31st.
The announcement follows the vehicle being observed undergoing testing in Taiwan just weeks earlier. The second-generation T-Roc was first unveiled globally in late August 2025 before going on sale across Europe in November.
More recently, large shipments of the model were observed arriving at Taipei Port, prompting speculation that the new T-Roc would be launched in Taiwan during the second half of the year. Volkswagen has now confirmed the launch date.
Built on the MQB Evo platform, the new T-Roc retains its coupe-inspired SUV silhouette while incorporating a revised exterior design. The front fascia features a lower-mounted grille, larger honeycomb air intakes and slimmer lighting elements.
In overseas markets, both the standard model and the R-Line variant continue to be offered, and both versions are expected to be available in Taiwan.
Dimensionally, the new T-Roc measures 4,373mm in length, 1,828mm in width and 1,573mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,629mm. Compared with the outgoing model, the overall length has increased by 122mm, while the wheelbase has grown by 39mm, resulting in increased passenger accommodation and cabin space.
Volkswagen has also increased luggage capacity to 475 litres, an increase of 30 litres over the previous generation.
The cabin adopts Volkswagen's digital cockpit design language, first introduced in the new Tiguan. A redesigned centre console incorporates a multifunction rotary controller that enables drivers to adjust drive modes, audio volume and ambient lighting.
Depending on the trim level, buyers can choose between 10.3-inch and 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreens. Higher-specification models also feature 14-way power-adjustable ergoActive front seats with a massage function.
The current version of Travel Assist includes driver-assistance functions such as adaptive cruise control with assisted lane changing, intelligent speed-limit recognition and adjustment, and Park Assist Pro, which enables remote-controlled automatic parking.
In overseas markets, the new T-Roc is available with 1.5-litre eTSI and 2.0-litre eTSI mild-hybrid turbocharged petrol engines, both paired with a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. The 1.5-litre engine is offered in 116 PS and 150 PS outputs, while the 2.0-litre variant produces 204 PS and comes equipped with Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheel-drive system as standard.
Volkswagen has also confirmed that a new 1.5-litre full-hybrid powertrain will be added to the line-up at a later date, increasing the number of electrified powertrain options available for the model.
