Ghandhara Industries is set to introduce Japanese truck brand UD Trucks in Pakistan after signing a strategic partnership with Isuzu Group-owned UD Trucks for the import and distribution of its trucks in the Pakistani market.
The company disclosed the development to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on August 17th, stating that it had formally signed a collaboration agreement with UD Trucks.
Under the agreement, Ghandhara will market and distribute completely built-up units (CBUs) of UD Trucks in the country, with commercial distribution expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
UD Trucks operates and sells vehicles across 59 countries and primarily serves the heavy-duty and medium-duty truck segments, according to a market research firm's report.
The Ghandhara Group already has a presence in the CBU truck market through Ghandhara Automobiles Ltd (GAL), which distributes Dongfeng and Renault trucks. The partnership will expand Ghandhara's product portfolio and add another international truck brand to its operations. UD Trucks is a global truck manufacturer and is part of the broader Volvo Group.
Ghandhara said the initiative forms part of its product portfolio expansion and is expected to contribute to the company's future growth.
The agreement also adds another truck brand to Pakistan's commercial vehicle market, where demand for heavy trucks is linked to transportation, logistics, construction and broader economic activity.
