The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been officially launched in Nepal.
Alpha Automotive, the authorised distributor of Royal Enfield motorcycles in Nepal, has introduced the adventure bike in its latest iteration.
It has been a while since Royal Enfield Nepal ceased sales of the previous Himalayan model.
With its latest upgrade, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 now incorporates many contemporary features and design elements not seen in its predecessor.
Design
The front view of the Himalayan 450 commands attention with its rugged and adventurous design. The prominent round LED headlamp, flanked by protective guards, ensures optimal visibility in diverse conditions.
Additionally, the windscreen, mounted just above the headlamp, protects the rider from wind blasts.
From the side, the Himalayan 450 presents a robust and well-proportioned silhouette. The sturdy frame, combined with the angular fuel tank, strikes a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality.
The seats feature a split design. While the rider's seat is designed for comfort, the pillion seat does not offer the same level of comfort. The rear carrier provides additional utility for carrying gear.
Side profile of the bike also reveals the bike's rear suspension system, which is a linkage-type monoshock.
The sturdy grab handles offer added safety for pillion riders, and the overall rear structure emphasises the bike's capability and readiness for adventure.
Moreover, a USB-C charger is provided for convenient phone charging, adding to the bike's practicality and user-friendly design.
The Himalayan 450 is available in - kaza brown, slate poppy blue, slate himalayan salt, kamet white, and hanle black.
Performance
The Himalayan 450 is powered by a 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, DOHC engine. It generates a maximum power of 40 PS at 8000 rpm and a maximum torque of 40 Nm at 5500 rpm.
It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a substantial 17-litre fuel capacity.
The Himalayan 450 features an all-new engine developed by Royal Enfield, known as the Sherpa 450. It is touted as the most modern and advanced engine Royal Enfield has produced to date.
Additional details
The suspension duties are handled by Showa upside-down big piston forks and a linkage-type monoshock.
Dimensions of the bike are 2245 mm in length, 852 mm in width, and 1316 mm in height. The wheelbase is 1510 mm.
