Mercedes-Benz Taiwan has issued media invitations confirming that the facelifted GLB and the all-electric GLC, both currently available for pre-sale, will be launched on November 19th.
The GLC 300 4Matic electric produces a maximum output of 421 PS, while the GLC 400 4Matic electric delivers 489 PS. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 4.7 seconds for the GLC 300 and 4.3 seconds for the GLC 400.
The two models also feature different battery configurations. The GLC 300 is equipped with an 85 kWh battery pack, providing a maximum WLTP driving range of 616 km. The GLC 400 features a larger 94 kWh lithium-ion battery, extending its maximum WLTP range to 715 km.
Both versions come with the AMG Line exterior package as standard, featuring an illuminated radiator grille, an illuminated three-pointed star emblem and MULTIBEAM intelligent digital headlights.
Other standard equipment includes a panoramic glass roof, a hands-free power tailgate, a digital key, electrically adjustable front seats with memory and heating functions, 64-colour ambient lighting and the MBUX Superscreen display. The latter combines a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster with 14-inch central and front passenger touchscreens.
Additional features include an MBUX augmented-reality head-up display, wireless charging for both front seats, a Burmester sound system, Level 2 driver assistance and a 360-degree surround-view camera. The higher-specification variant additionally features a 39.1-inch frameless integrated MBUX Hyperscreen.
Mercedes-Benz may introduce a more affordable GLC 250 electric
Mercedes-Benz Taiwan may also introduce another variant alongside the two confirmed dual-motor versions. Information found in the Fire Department's emergency rescue manual also references an entry-level model called the GLC 250 electric.
If introduced in Taiwan, this version could lower the starting price of the all-electric GLC range and make the model accessible to a wider range of buyers.
According to overseas specifications, the GLC 250 electric uses a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive configuration, producing a maximum output of 354 PS. Its claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 5.9 seconds. The model is equipped with an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a maximum WLTP driving range of up to 650 km.
Although Mercedes-Benz Taiwan has yet to officially confirm whether this entry-level variant will join the local line-up, its inclusion in the emergency rescue documentation indicates the possibility of a local introduction.
With the redesigned GLB and all-electric GLC scheduled to arrive on November 19th, Mercedes-Benz is set to expand its SUV portfolio with models featuring flexible seating arrangements, petrol mild-hybrid technology and electric powertrains. The upcoming launch is expected to provide further details about the brand's pricing strategy and its plans to compete in Taiwan's premium SUV and electric vehicle segments.
