The 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS 2026), taking place from June 12th to 21st at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), will serve as the venue for a range of new vehicle debuts and previews from several automotive brands, including Hyundai, Jetour, Mazda, MG and Zeekr.
Facelifted Hyundai Stargazer set for Malaysian debut
Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has confirmed that the Stargazer will make an appearance at KLIMS 2026 through social media teasers carrying the caption, ''a new star takes centre stage.'' The lighting signature shown in the teaser belongs to the facelifted Stargazer already on sale in Thailand and Indonesia.
The appearance of the B-segment MPV at KLIMS would place it ahead of Hyundai's previously stated timeline, which indicated a fourth-quarter arrival for a new B-segment MPV. When launched in Malaysia, the Stargazer will enter a segment currently occupied by the Mitsubishi Xpander, Perodua Alza and Toyota Veloz.
The facelifted Stargazer measures 4,575 mm in length and 1,780 mm in width, making it larger than the Alza, Veloz and Xpander. Compared with the Perodua Alza, it is 150 mm longer and 50 mm wider, while its 2,780 mm wheelbase is 30 mm longer. Luggage capacity stands at 185 litres with all seats in place, increasing to 585 litres with the third row folded and up to 1,892 litres with additional seats folded.
In Thailand and Indonesia, the Stargazer is powered by a Smartstream 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine producing 115 PS (84.4 kW) and 144 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with Hyundai's Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), a continuously variable transmission that uses a chain rather than a conventional belt. A six-speed manual transmission is also available in Indonesia, although it is not expected to be offered in Malaysia.
Thai-market models feature second-row captain seats, a rear passenger table on the left-side seat, smart keyless entry, an electric parking brake, rear air-conditioning vents with dedicated controls and four drive modes.
All-new Jetour G700 heading to Malaysia
Jetour Auto Malaysia has confirmed that the all-new G700 SUV will be displayed at KLIMS 2026. The model was launched in China in October last year and was subsequently shown at Auto Beijing 2026.
The three-row SUV measures 5,198 mm in length, 2,050 mm in width and 1,956 mm in height, placing it in competition with models such as the GWM Tank 500.
While Malaysian specifications have yet to be announced, the Chinese-market G700 is available in six- and seven-seat configurations. Power comes from a plug-in hybrid system combining a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with electric motors, delivering a combined output of 904 PS and 1,135 Nm. Jetour claims a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.6 seconds.
Electrical energy is supplied by a 34.13-kWh CATL battery that provides up to 150 km of electric-only driving range. DC charging supports up to 170 kW, enabling a 30-80% recharge in 10 minutes. The vehicle also offers 6.6-kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality and a claimed combined driving range of 1,400 km on the CLTC cycle, equivalent to approximately 1,148 km under WLTP standards.
Equipment in the Chinese-market model includes a 35.4-inch display strip spanning the base of the windscreen, a 15.6-inch central infotainment touchscreen, a 17.3-inch roof-mounted display for rear passengers and an 8.8-inch rear climate-control touchscreen. Jetour could also introduce the T1 at KLIMS, having previewed the model earlier in 2026.
Mazda to showcase all-new CX-5 and CX-60 3.3G AWD
Bermaz has announced that the Mazda CX-5 and CX-60 3.3G AWD will make their Malaysian debuts at KLIMS 2026. The third-generation CX-5, which made its global debut in July 2025, is scheduled for launch in Malaysia during the third quarter of this year. Visitors to KLIMS will have access to pre-launch pricing information.
Initially, the new CX-5 will be imported from Japan and powered by a 2.5-litre engine. The locally assembled second-generation CX-5 with a 2.0-litre engine will continue to be sold alongside the new model.
Compared with its predecessor, the new CX-5 is larger, measuring 4,690 mm in length and 1,860 mm in width. Its wheelbase has increased to 2,815 mm, representing gains of 140 mm, 20 mm and 115 mm respectively. Design changes include revised rear styling with Mazda lettering and a substantially updated interior featuring a larger touchscreen display.
The CX-60 3.3G AWD joins the existing CX-60 2.5-litre 2WD High launched in Malaysia in September 2025. The new variant is powered by Mazda's e-Skyactiv G 3.3-litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and i-Activ all-wheel drive.
A 48-volt M Hybrid Boost mild-hybrid system supplements the engine, using an electric motor-generator connected to a 0.33-kWh lithium-ion battery. Combined output is rated at 284 PS between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm and 450 Nm between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm.
The CX-60 is based on Mazda's Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture, featuring a longitudinal engine layout and a rear-wheel-drive-based platform. Compared with the current second-generation CX-5, the CX-60 is 195 mm longer, 50 mm wider and has a wheelbase that is 170 mm longer. The existing CX-60 2.5L is priced at MYR 200,510 (US$ 49,360), with the 3.3G AWD expected to be priced higher.
