Taiwan's Foxtron Vehicle Technologies, a joint venture between Foxconn and Yulon Motor, launched an electric vehicle model, Bria, on 25th December.
"The model will initially be offered at three price points, ranging from approximately US$ 28,600 to US$ 36,540," Foxtron stated, noting that Bria is the first EV model to be manufactured in Taiwan for global export.
Last week, Foxtron announced that it would acquire Yulon Motor's Luxgen passenger-car brand for NTD 787.6 million (US$ 25 million) and that it would launch its Model B EV in Taiwan under the Bria brand.
Under the agreement, Foxtron will acquire 100% of Luxgen, including its five sales subsidiaries, sales outlets, and employees, according to a company statement.
Following the transaction, Foxtron will assume operational control, with the objective of establishing a more comprehensive EV value chain in Taiwan, encompassing product development, sales and after-sales services.
Foxconn, the world's largest contract manufacturer for iPhones, holds a 45.6% stake in Foxtron, while Taiwanese automaker Yulon owns 43.8%.
Foxtron operates under a contract design and manufacturing services business model, producing EVs for various car brands.
